Little Caesar's Breadsticks Copy Cat Recipe
I don't know if this is the exact recipe for the bread stick made at "Little Caesar's" because I just made it up, but they sure are good and the taste and texture are very similar to that of the popular restaurant bread sticks! These are a quick and easy hot bread that goes will with just about any meal like soup and salad, pasta dinners, etc.
2 cups flour
2 tsp. yeast
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar or agave nectar
1/3 cup olive oil
3/4 cup WARM water
Vegan butter (I use Earth Balance)
Vegan Parmesan Cheese
In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, yeast, salt, sugar or honey, oil and water. Mix well until a soft dough forms. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times. Roll the dough out width-wise first until it is about 12-14 inches wide. Then roll it the opposite direction, lengthwise "up and down" until it is about 4-5 inches long. You should have an oval oblong shaped piece of dough. The dough will stretch when you pick up to put it on the baking sheet so you don't want to roll it out too long (up and down). Cut the dough into strips with a pizza cutter and place on a well greased baking sheet. Drizzle the top of the strips with oil and let them rise for about 15 minutes or so then bake in a very hot oven @ 450 degrees for about 10 minutes.
Remove the breadstick from the oven and while hot brush with soft butter, sprinkle to taste with garlic powder and parmesean cheese.
